James Smith is a service-disabled veteran and former police officer and crime scene technician with over 20 years of law enforcement experience. He's seen firsthand what families go through after a traumatic event — and the critical gap in professional, compassionate cleanup services in North Country.
That's why he founded Post Trauma Scene Decon in October 2023. Certified in crime scene cleanup, death and suicide cleaning, bioremediation, drug lab cleaning, and forensic cleaning, James brings a rare combination of technical expertise and emotional understanding to every job.
His approach is simple: respond fast, work thoroughly, and treat every client the way he'd want his own family treated. That commitment earned him the 2025 BBB Torch Award for Ethics and the 2024 VETCON Business Plan Competition.
